By your powers combined: Past, Present, Future

One of my favorite scriptures growing up and still today is Jeremiah 29:11, it’s probably a familiar one for you. “ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”  That is so exciting and inspirational! The God of the universe, creator of everything, has seen me and my life and has a great plan for my future.

Sometimes I find myself getting so caught up in this beautiful idea of the future God has for me that I miss out on what God is doing in the here and now. It can be hard to find a balance between hoping for the future, making the most out of the present and learning from the past.Spend too much time dwelling on the past, and we develop a tendency to think that the best is already behind us; that the present pales in comparison to the glory days of yesterday and the future is full of scary change.Too much focus on the present can magnify circumstances and block out our vision of what is truly important. If we constantly look towards the future, we will be living in a dream world, always chasing the next thing.

Friends, I want you to live the abundant life God has for you! Remember the past, thank God for how far He has brought you and learn from it. Be thankful for the present, make the most out of your life today, and enjoy what God is doing in the here and now. Be free to dream, be inspired by the perfect plan God has for your future; I guarantee it is a great one.
